MCS 7 is 72mbps at 20Mhz... If you want to get higher rates, like the 135mbps you said, you should use channel bonding (40mhz width)

I am having a 5508 WLC with some1142n LAPs. The problem is that wireless clients connect to the 802.11N 5Ghz however something is wrong with the data rates.

When i do show controllers dot11radio 1 in the AP i get

Active Rates: basic-12.0 18.0 24.0 36.0 48.0 54.0 m0. m1. m2. m3. m4. m5. m6. m7. m8. m9. m10. m11. m12. m13. m14. m15.
Current Rates: basic-12.0 18.0 24.0 36.0 48.0 54.0 m0. m1. m2. m3. m4. m5. m6. m7. m8. m9. m10. m11. m12. m13. m14. m15.
Allowed Rates: 6.0 9.0 12.0 18.0 24.0 36.0 48.0 54.0

The allowed rates do not include the active rates.

I read that there is bug CSCti89945 but i am not the case as the controller came already with 7.0.98 version. I did not upgrade.

I have checked that i am using a WLAN with only WPA2 and AES, i enabled WWM and i ve already enabled 802.11n support.

I tested with an Ipad showing that the client connects with data rate m7.That means according to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11n-2009

135-150 Mbps?

Thank you

I have already configured channel bonding however in the DCA Channel list i only see these channels 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64

When i enable Extended UNII-2 channels i see 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 120, 124, 128, 132, 136, 140

Is that correct for channel bonding?

Depending on what your wireless NIC card:

1. The so-called 300 mbps "N" rate is expressed in HALF duplex. Halve the value and you get 150 mbps.

2. Some wireless NIC cards doesn't really support 300 mbps.
