      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;As long as you don't have any VLAN's configured the AP will operate as a layer 2 device. with Vlans linked to SSID's your device will need to follow the topology defined by the VLAN/SSID subnet. IE your static IP must be in the same subnet as the VLAN theat is paired with the SSID your client is configured for. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;beyond the AP you have your switch configuration to consider.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;also it would be good if you pick an address outside any DHCP scopes.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Good luck&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Bill&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
