topic Disable ARP? in Wireless

The Vocera best practices guide says to disable arp on the WLC. What? I'm not sure why I would want to do that in the first place, and second, how?

Regards,

Scott

Many of our customers have experienced one-way audio issues with ARP unicast enabled. Hence the reference to disabling Proxy ARP mechanisms.

To enable proxy ARP, arpunicast should be disabled.

config network arpunicast disable

This command is removed from the latest WLAN controller versions.

When proxy ARP is enabled, this allows the WLAN ontroller to answer any ARP requests on behalf of the client. If not known, it will forward the ARP request over the air at DTIM.
