Disable the Catalyst 3650 as a WLAN-controller in Cisco Prime?

Is there any way to disable the WLAN-controller in the Catalyst 3650 so they not show up as WLAN-controller in Cisco Prime? We have no plan to use the 3650 as WLAN-controllers and do not want them as WLAN-controller (with a 0 AP-license) in Cisco Prime.

I have not tried this myself and don't even know if it is possible, but what is the output of the "show wireless mobility summary" command? If its role is not "mobillity agent" you can try to make it so with "no wireless mobility controller" and rebooting the switch. Than resync the device in PI.

There is no work around available.

Try upgrade switch IOS-XE to beyond 16.3.x this may go away. Beyond that code converged access is not supported and switch should not recognized as a WLC.

Hi Rena,

With IOS-XE 16.3.x codes, WLC function support still there.

Try 16.5.x or 16.6.x & see, that should not have this problem
