topic External Web Auth against RADIUS in Wireless

I am attempting to use external web authentication to circumvent the issue of not being able to download custom web page for web auth (I'm using an AireSpace 4012 that will only upgrade to code v3.9 and you need 4.0.x for custom web page download). Using internal web authentication with RADIUS works just fine. What I don't understand is why the use of External web auth all of the sudden requires the use of an internal local user? I don't want to use the internal database. Does anyone know why External web auth can't submit the request back to the WLC to be forwarded to RADIUS as it is with internal?

Regards,

Scott
