7920 maximum working distance

Hi,

I'm working on a project to deploy a wireless network on a wide open area( 3 Kms, for ip telephony mainly. The big question is: how far can I go with a 7920 without problems? Is it possible to extend this range (using another antenna or something like that)?

The 7920 will use the highest data rate when on call and can tx up to 100mw for Americas domain (50mw for everywhere else). The 7920 has a 0 dbi gain antenna. For AP side, 11 mbps can go up to about 360 feet depending on the antenna.

Hello,

The best way to know for sure is to test. I have a working environment with seven access points in a half acre space (about six building). I can use my 7920 within 15 to 20 feet of an access point and then the call quality starts to degrade.
