      <description>&lt;P&gt;Dear NetPro,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i need some expert to advice, when i put encapsulation dot1q and trunk in the switch port. i totally can't get any ip address assign by Access Point. and when i remove the encapsulation dot1q and trunk. i am able to get ip . what does it mean actually ? configuration as below,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;example1:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;---------------------------------&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;int fa 2/1 &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,210&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;switchport mode trunk&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;*************************************&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Example2&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;----------&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;int fa 2/1 &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;switchport access vlan 210&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;switchport mode access&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;***********************************&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;your reply will be highly appreciated,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Jack&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Add "switchport trunk native vlan 210" to your trunk configuration&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;in example 1. The (invisible) default makes VLAN 1 native, which means&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;frames in VLAN 210 are tagged and devices without trunk configuration&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;or a different native VLAN won't accept these frames.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Do you also have a dot1q-trunk configured on the AP?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Put the IP address on the BVI1 interface and that should fix your problem.  The dot1q trunking should be taking place on the subinterfaces.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
