Shouldn't be a difference between internal or external call, except for maybe codec type. Refer to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_implementation_design_guide_book09186a00802a029a.html for more info. Should also maybe open a case with TAC if still unsuccessful.

We recently upgraded 350 APs from VX Works to IOS. When calling from 7920 to internal VoIP phones it works as expected. When calling outside numbers, called party cannot hear audio from 7920 user. When outside caller calls in to 7920 the same thing happens, cannot hear audio from 7920 but 7920 has audio from caller.. Wired phones (7960) work fine. We also put in new 1200b/g APs and have the same problem.

Thanks for your replies. We found the problem. We were using the 7920 Config Util. and after loading the 7920s external callers could not hear audio from the 7920 but internal could. We rebooted the 7920 and now all is well.Does that make sense?

Not really, but there was an issue w/ pre-1.07 code, where the phone wouldn't ring after using the Configuration Utility, but was fixed w/ 1.08 code.
