ntp sync not working

I have 3 vlans set up on my Aironet 1231g (1-native, 516, and 800). The ip address of the AP is on vlan 516; the only reason we have vlan 1 on there as the native vlan is because when I try to remove it or set another vlan as the native vlan, everything stops working. My issue now is with ntp, which fails to sync. I know my ntp server works because other devices use it and sync up correctly. I'm thinking ntp is trying to sync via the native vlan, which currently isn't being used. Is there a workaround to force ntp to sync on a different vlan?

I imagine that your AP's address should be on you native VLAN. WHen you selt the native VLAN other than 1, are you using the native VLAN statement ont the device it is connected to?

The device I'm connecting to is an HP Procurve 2524, which I don't think has a "native vlan", per se. I do have the Procurve's "primary vlan" set to the other vlan (516).

The management and native VLANs must be the same on the AP1200s.

You should either move the native to 516, or change your Procurve's primary VLAN to 1.

Make sure both are ("fer sure") running Dot1q (int vlan 516 | encaps dot1q 516 native). Check that the Procurve is set to trunk the AP's port.

Thanks for the suggestions. Believe me, I'd love to make vlan 516 the native vlan, and I've tried doing so. But I get no communication to the AP when I make 516 native. With 516 as native, I've tried assigning the IP address of the AP to every interface possible, and I still can't ping the derned thing. I've also tried using a Cisco 3750 on the back end with 516 set as native, with the same results. I've tried everything, including my patience.
