Is it possible to have a central office that will serve as ISP to internet cafes with 10-15 users using 340 or 350 Bridges? Our central office will host an authentication server for them that will account for there logs. Is this possible? If it is what devices could i give to the cafes? and to the corporate site?

Best bet would be to use 5.8GHz for the backhaul (cafe to central office) and 2.4GHz in the cafes. We are working on a similar scenario.

Cisco's new 1200 series AP will take two cards, like the Orinoco AP2000, but until I get one in-hand I do not know if the second card can be configured as a bridge link.

If so, the second card could be a 2.4GHz card connected to an up/down converter to get it into the 5.8 band - assuming that's legal in your area.)

Matthew Wheeler

Blue Modal
