Does the IEEE 802.11 standard specify prioritization methods for voice and video on a wireless LAN?

Of course it's kinda tacky to do here on a Cisco forum but..., but I found a white paper on 802.11 on 3Com's site and in it they talk about "Time Bounded Data" like voice and video and the "Point Coordination Function" in access points as being something that provides some level of prioritization. I'm going to have to do some more research on the issue, though, since it is going to be pretty important for voice and video over IP over wireless.

No, sorry to say that the IEEE 802.11 standard does not provide any way to priortize voice or video traffic. It is used to categorize different radio signals and its strengths.
