monitoring of WLCs in HA-SSO mode

WLCs in HA-SSO mode is like one logical WLC.

Which tools & monitoring systems can be used to identify that one of WLCs has problem or down etc.

Most tools do SNMP and ICMP check for monitoring, by such way is it possible to achieve monitoring of both WLCs in HA-pair ?

The RP interface is pingable, which might help. I know that Prime Infrastructure is able to monitor the backup state, so snmp from the primary to a specific OID can provide the state of which controller is active and is the backup is available or not.

I have also just used these to poll the controllers:

SSO Enabled:
CISCO-SMI::ciscoMgmt.198888.0.1.1.0 = INTEGER: 1

SSO Disabled:
CISCO-SMI::ciscoMgmt.198888.0.1.1.0 = INTEGER: 2
Primary Unit is Active:
CISCO-SMI::ciscoMgmt.198888.0.1.12.0 = INTEGER: 1

Secondary Unit is Active:
CISCO-SMI::ciscoMgmt.198888.0.1.12.0 = INTEGER: 2
With SSO Enabled, the pairs are in sync:
CISCO-SMI::ciscoMgmt.198888.0.6.3.0 = STRING: "Complete"

With SSO Disabled:
CISCO-SMI::ciscoMgmt.198888.0.6.3.0 = STRING: "Not Applicable"
