Hi,

trying to find difference in available features on 9800l wlc for ap [from 3700 to 9130]/ssid deployed in flexconnect local switching mode versus local mode. Checking feature matrix (9800 FlexConnect Feature matrix) but i do not see major differences between modes.

i'm thinking of migration from on-site controllers (3) and 1 flexconnect into 1 dedicated flex-connect controller (9800L) for all of them (around 220 ap) as authentication is hosted in central location (ISE) and from QoS point of view i should trust marking from end users.

There isn’t much difference at all between AireOs and IOS-XE. I think it really comes down to how you migrate and making sue that your testing validates your new design and requirements and then determining your migration process. I will be migrating from local site controllers running AireOs to 9800’s in Flex, just to reduce the complexity and management.
