TAC case is open, so waiting for them now.

I might be normal. However I've never upgraded the FUS before or ran the show boot command straight after uploading.

I will let you know the outcome.

Hello,

I've upgraded our WLC to 8.5.140.0 this weekend and all is good.

Cisco then said to do the FUS. So today I've uploaded 'AIR-CT5500-K9-1-9-0-0-FUS.aes' so we can reboot at the weekend.

However when I go to the WLC I see:

(Cisco Controller) >show boot
Primary Boot Image............................... Error (default)
Backup Boot Image................................ Error (active)

This doesn't look good does it?

Thanks

Hi,

That does indeed not look good. I would suggest opening a TAC case before rebooting the controller.

But I must say I have never done a show boot before a reboot for a FUS upgrade so this may be normal. But I would open a case eater case. Better safe then sorry in this case sens a faulty FUS upgrade will often result in a bricked WLC.

regards,
Jonas
**Don't forget to rate helpful posts**

If the FUS was already running the latest FUS code, uploading the same version may cause issues.

We have never updated to FUS since we installed the WLCs about 2.5 years ago. Cisco say this is normal and will be ok after a reboot.
