      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello folks,&amp;nbsp; I'm wondering let's say I have a switch that I can access remotely only.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The switch is IP address is configure below:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;switch1#&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;!
int vlan 6
ip address 192.168.6.5 255.255.255.0
!
!&lt;BR /&gt;int vlan 120
ip address 192.168.120.5 255.255.255.0
!
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.6.1

&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So when I want to access the switch I just use the mgmt IP address 192.168.120.5 to do so.&amp;nbsp; So now let's say VLAN 6 will go away and I have to delete the int vlan 6 from the switch and only use vlan 120 to access the switch.&amp;nbsp; I also must delete that static route since that gateway of 192.168.6.1 will not exist anymore. How would I do this without losing permanent access to my switch?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I know that the ip route command puts me under the default route for a gateway that does not exist anymore and I must point the default route now to &lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;192.168.120.1&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
