Cisco 2504 controller not booting

SYS and ALM LEDs on steady amber when powered. Please what could be the problem with the controller?

Controller does not load any startup config.

How do I make the controller boot?

That is sounding like it might be dead - as in needs replacement. If you have a Cisco SmartNet I would open a support case.

Otherwise if you plug into the console port and power up the WLC what output do you get?

The console port does not display anything when i power the controller.

Hi mate,

Are you saying that the WLC doesn't load the software?

Or are you saying that it just doesn't boot to the startup config?

Hello Raffy,

Thanks for your reply, the WLC does not load software at all, I even removed the RAM and the Flash form the motherboard and reinserted yet nothing is displayed when its powered.

The unit has failed. It needs to be replaced.
