Read the Release Notes (to determine if the APs are supported or not). TAC Recommends the latest 8.5.140.0 to fix the corrupt IOS bug.

You need to be running version 8.3.x in order to upgrade to 8.5.140.0

A new release has been available since 18th April 2019 8.3.150 and if you check Field notice https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/field-notices/703/fn70330.html 8.3.150.0 is excluded from the corrupt IOS bug, however the doc was last updated 18th January 2019.

Personally I would upgrade to 8.3.150.0 then go to 8.5.140.0, it's likely the corrupt AP bug is excluded from 8.3.150.0 this version been released not even a week ago.
