I dont think its possible.

First you need to configure the basic things (mgmt ip/ mask/ username/password)

Once this is done then you can connect to swicth port and can configure it remotely.

Bets way would be:

1. Ask someone form remote site to give you a console acces to AP

2. confifure basic parameter/startupconfig(just like WLC)

3. Connect AP to swicthport and finish config from your home location.

Regards

Dont forget to rate helpful posts

Hi all,

i would like help for my first post.

I want to use Mobility Express on 1830 access point. the fact is that it's for a distant site (not even same continent) and i want to send access point directly onsite after ordering. by doing so after having it connected in local swith (where i have acces and with DHCP server) will i be abble to configure access points at distance?

Will access points with Mobility express get automaticly get DHCP address and allow me to configure Wlan, master and slave etc...?

Thank you.

Don't do this, or at least make sure you buy an AP for the destination country, or it will not work when selecting the wrong country!
See here for more information: https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/assets/prod/wireless/wireless-compliance-tool/index.html
I suggest you do the basic setup in your office (create SSID and PSK, other few settings) and then send it. This should work.
