Cisco Aironet 1852E Mobility Express Problem

I have just purchased a brand new AIR-AP-1852E-F-K9 32 Unit for our branches

I connected the AP to the POE and it gets an ip.

But the CiscoAirProvision SSID won't show up. After a lot of research I am a little bit confused.

Maybe someone can help me.

- I need the AP using mobility Express.

- The correct firmware would be AIR-AP1850-K9-8-3-143-0.tar or AIR-AP1850-K9-ME-8-3-143-0.zip - I don't have any contract with cisco so I can't download this firmware. Why do I need a contract to download software from Cisco?

- I tried to ssh to the AP with putty to find out if what version is currently installed on the ap but i can't connect to it.

Any help would be very appreciated and sorry for my English.

You need "AIR-AP1850-K9-8-3-143-0.tar" file for converting it to Mobility Express mode. The other .zip file is for AP image upgrades when other AP joins ME AP.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/mob_exp/83/user_guide/b_ME_User_Guide_83/about_mob_exp.html

To get firmware upgrades, you requires supports, that's how cisco operate.

Try console cable & see you can configure it via CLI

HTH

AIR-AP-1852E-F-K9 is this the full name of the ordered model?
If yes, you ordered one in CAPWAP mode, not Mobility Express. The ME models have a C and the end of the order model: AIR-AP-1852E-F-K9C
In that case I suggest you have it replaced by your vendor with a correct Mobility Express model.
Alternatively you can do the software switch, as outlined by Rasika.
