topic Configuring Guest VLAN on switch SG200-50P and WAP371 in Wireless

Hi, I tried to separate guest and internal WLAN traffic and I need some advice for the VLAN configuration. My devices are:

1x Switch Cisco SG200-50P

6x Cisco WAP371

1x Fritz.box Internet router

The fritz.box internet router has to LAN ports. Ethernet port 1 is for internal network with DHCP services (192.168.1.0) and Ethernet port 4 for guest access with separate DHCP services (192.168.179.0).

On the WAP371 I have VLAN 1 for internal and VLAN2 for guest access and the same on the SG200. The Fritzbox port 4 is forbidden for VLAN1 and tagged for VLAN 2. The 6x port of the WAP371 are set to untagged for VLAN1+2.

It does not work as expected. After connecting to the guest WLAN sometimes I receive a correct guest address 192.168.179.x, but can’t access the internet (connecting a pc directly to port 4 at fritz.box works). And sometimes I receive an internal address 192.168.1.x and I am not separated from internal network.

I used already the search function and tried some port settings with limited success. Can somebody help me with detailed settings I need?

THX BR Gerd

Hi

If I understood correctly your scenario, you want to connect your AP to the Switch and the Switch to the router and then advertise two ssid. One SSID shout go through one routers interface and the other SSID should go through the other interface.

If that is correct, you need trunk between AP and switch.

Ex:

SSID 1 - VLAN 10

SSID 2 - VLAN 20

AP in trunk with Switch passing those two vlans.

On the switch side, you need on interface on vlan 10 and another on the vlan 20, respectively connected to routers interfaces.

-If I helped you somehow, please, rate it as useful.-
