Hey Prashant, thanks for the reply!

Ok, thanks for verifying this for me. I'll make my changes either off-hours, or once no more "Guest" are connected to that WLAN.

Thanks Again,
Matt

Modifying WLAN Session TImeout

Hello All,

Hardware: WLC2504

I want to modify the "Session Timeout (secs)" setting located in our Guest WLAN > Advanced > Session Timeout. I just want to increase the timeout value and change nothing else.

If I modify only this setting and "Save" the WLAN, will clients connected and authenticated to this WLAN get dropped and be forced to re-authenticate and/or reconnect?

Since its the Guest Wi-Fi, which is utilizing the Authentication Redirect through Cisco ISE, it can sometimes be a real pain trying to get clients authenticated to the Guest network. So if saving the WLAN will cause them to drop off the Wi-Fi, I'll wait until after-hours to make this change...

Thanks in Advance,

Matt

Hi Matthew,

I am sure about this. If you make changes in production environment (i mean Guest users are connected and accessing internet using the guest SSID) all the Users who are connected to this SSID will be disconnected.

I would recommend - you can make changes during non-office hours to avoid connectivity interruption for the Guest users.

Thanks,
