flexconnect configuration: two options

for flexconnect its possible two ways for configuration:

without "vlan support" and, port where access point is connected, in access mode

with this configuration obviously there are less settings and time for config

2) access point is in flexconnect mode and there is a trunk between switch and access point and "VLAN support" is enabled with settings under the "VLAN mappings" button informing access point which local VLANs to use

Sincerely it is not a matter of advantage or disadvantage but how your environment is configured or what do you intend to achieve.

If you have only one SSID and both AP and client will get IP from the same local scope then AP as access should work.

But if you want to split things out, work with more then one SSID and distribute SSID traffic in different vlan, then you need trunk and vlan to WLAN mapping.
