What is the difference between ofdm rate vs mcs rate ?

If you talk about OFDM rate, I think you refer to the data rates 6,9,12,18,24,36,48,54 Mbps values.

MCS rates are used in 802.11n & 802.11ac. Refer below for those values

to get 802.11n data rates below need to fulfil

1. SSID should have either no security (open) or WPA2 with AES encryption (either PSK or 802.1X)

2. WMM should be enabled (either Allowed or Required under WLAN QoS tab)

Management Frames are sent

Management Frames are sent lowest mandatory rates configured. In your set up 12Mbps might configure as mandatory.

Data frames can be sent any supported data rates (including MCS). According to the value 13Mbps, it is MCS1 with 20MHz channel width setting.
