&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 14.4px; line-height: normal;"&gt;Why do we need  5760  central wireless controller if we are using  3850 stacks ?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/PRE&gt;

&lt;P&gt;You do not want to use 5760 in order to use 3850 with integrated WLC. Still you need to pick one 3850 stack as Mobility Controller (MC) which keeps license for APs &amp;amp; handle RRM related tasks.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 14.4px; line-height: normal;"&gt;Converged Access is a wireless design where you will converge your wired &amp;amp; wireless traffic at the access layer (in centralized controller model all wireless traffic tunnel back to distribution layer irrespective of where AP connect at your access layer).       <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Why do we need &amp;nbsp;5760 &amp;nbsp;central wireless controller if we are using &amp;nbsp;3850 stacks ?&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Because normally Cisco Catalyst 3850 is used as MA (Mobility Agent) it can also serve as a mobility controller for small to medium-sized deployments. But for the large deployments, a dedicated WLC such as the 5760 WLC or WiSM2/5508 WLC with a software update is required.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;What is converged access and mobilty ?&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Converged access means convergence of both wired and wireless traffic at one access layer network to simplify control and management for enterprise.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Mobility Or roaming, in which a wireless client moves from one physical location to another or association from one WAP to another WAP without losing connectivity and services at any time.&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
