HA SSO over WAN

Hi all,

Yesterday, I was asked a very interesting queistion. Can I configure HA over the WAN connection b/n our HQ and DR? Each location has a WLC 5508. My first answer was NO based on the HA (AP SSO) Deployment Guide; however, I wanted bring this topic to the community and find if someone has any ideas of a better design to recomend. Flexconnect is an option but it has its on pros and cons.

AP SSO isnt supported across a WAN as a physical connection is needed based on the deployment guide. You can still do traditional ap failover.

George is correct on this. One thing you can do that is stable is using v7.4 and N+1 design. Thus does not perform AP SSO but is something you can implement if you have a HA sku WLC.

Thanks marstoyanoff for the information but I have some more queries

I have purchased the 1 license of 100 AP. So if I go for N+1 design then should I need to purchase separate license of 100 AP for secondary WLC.

Also how I able to create VLAN 2 connectivity over WAN.
