Hi All,

I am involved in a project that wants to implement location based services

using the WLAN to track users has they move around the estate.

I have been conducting a survey using ESS and Air Magnet and both

have difficulty in placing APs when the ceiling height goes above 4.0m

I am using cisco 1140n APs to get signal readings, but does location tracking start to breakdown once

the AP is at a significant height of 4-6m

What level of location are you trying to gain ? It would make sense if the ap is feet higher than others that location could be off slightly.

I want to locate users within 2metres of a position on my map

the total area I need to cover is 200,000 sqft and in some places

the mount option is 5-6m from the floor.
