Just an idea: I am not sure 100% but i think the problem is that u have associated a SSID to the native VLAN.

Create another VLAN for the guest ssid.

Another thing: I also have a problem. Two PC wireless connected in the same VLAN cannot ping each other while they ping the gateway and the AP fine !!! Anyone have an idea ?

thanks

VLAN question

I am testing using multiple VLAN's on Aironet 1200s and 350s. I keep getting a warning that reads: "No VLAN should be selected when Proxy Mobile IP is enabled under SSID 1 of interface 2". The proxy Mobile button is not enabled in this particular VLAN. Why do I keep getting this warning?

I could not find that bug in the bug toolkit. I have another question: My guest VLAN will not pull an IP address form the DHCP server. It gets assigned a 169.254.x.x address. I followed the Documentation "Configuring VLANs" that CIsco reccommends, but i still can not get my guest VLAN to work. ANy ideas would be appreciated

Same problem here. First remember if you get a 169.254.x.x ip address that is a default address when a nic / radio can't obtain an IP. Maybe my config which is not working 100% can help you fix your setup...I have two vlans: VLAD 8 is guest ssid and I set it to Native and VLAN 9 is set to ssid biz. When I connect to the guest vlan I can an IP address from my DHCP server and life is good. However, when I connect to the biz ssid i get the old 169.x.x.x address and I can't connect anywhere. TAC tells me its the switch then they tell me its the AP (back and forth) over the past 3 days. Also the error message you get is just a warning. No worries on that unless you have mobile ip on. its in the latest user guide and release notes.

I'm replying to a really old thread here (4 months!), but hey!

First, I reckon your inter PC thing could be a faulty AP, or buggy code. I had the same thing once and it was a faulty AP, but I'm sure I saw the same thing on a certain code too.

On the "No VLAN should be selected when Proxy Mobile IP is enabled under SSID..." topic, I currently have the same issue. My native VLAN isn't associated to a SSID, so it's not that. I've tried multiple codes, so its not that either.

My config is "by the book" as far as I can tell.

I was looking on here as a last ditch on this.

All-be-it only a warning, its annoying, and it shouldn't be there! If anybody is reading this at Cisco, and you could suggest what might cause this? It would be appreciated! Otherwise, I'm logging a TAC case tomorrow!
