what code these devices running ?

what is the end device? Laptop? check any Driver Upgrade available for wifi nic card.

check if you have any other device - is this having the same issue?

What encryption are you using also? I have always seen some drops when roaming no matter what. There are other features like 802.1r, 802.1k and 802.1v that can help, but doesn’t work if devices do kit support those features. Even with those, you might see some drops. MacBook doesn’t support 802.1r but iPhones do.
Well the client and ap has to go through a 4-way handshake during a roam also. So you will see some ping drops. Look at the features I mentioned earlier and check if your devices support them and or test with those features enabled.
