cisco CAP3502i reset

Hi everyone,

I try to reset a CISCO CAP2502i, and I follow this tutorial: https://tom-bullock.com/2016/10/18/factory-reset-air-cap3502i-e-k9/

On the console I have:

IOS Bootloader – Starting system.
FLASH CHIP: Micronix MX25L256_35F
Xmodem file system is available.
flashfs[0]: 42 files, 9 directories
flashfs[0]: 0 orphaned files, 0 orphaned directories
flashfs[0]: Total bytes: 31936000
flashfs[0]: Bytes used: 18450432
flashfs[0]: Bytes available: 13485568
flashfs[0]: flashfs fsck took 10 seconds.
Reading cookie from SEEPROM
Base Ethernet MAC address: 78:da:6e:e0:26:55
************* loopback_mode = 0
button is pressed, wait for button to be released…
button pressed for 21 seconds
process_config_recovery: set IP address and config to default 10.0.0.1
process_config_recovery: image recovery
image_recovery: Download default IOS tar image tftp://255.255.255.255/ap1g2-k9w7-tar.default

examining image…

And it gets stuck on this text: examining image...

I wait 2 hours, and nothing else happen 😕

Any idea to factory reset by another way this access point ?

It is the procedure that I follow, and same... The AP is stucked at "examining image".

I forgot to mention something, there is this information before "examining image": Unable to create temp dir "flash:/update"

And if I try to reset the AP without the network connected, the prompt is OK, but I can't enter in dir "flash". It said: permission denied...

Same 😕

I push reset button and start without network to have the prompt cmd.

I enter the fsck flash: command, it finished by: flashfs fsck took 62 seconds but no error found.

I tried to enter in flash dir, but same error: unable to stat flash/: permission denied.

And if I reset the AP with network connected, I have again the Unable to create temp dir "flash:/update", and it gets stuck at examining image.

Hi,

run this command: delete /f /r flash:update

Once the command has finished, run the "archive download-sw" again.

Ok, it works ! Now I have a fresh AP, and default user/pwd works 🙂

But... I have no webinterface... My AP have an IP assigned by the DHCP server, but no webinterface.

I tried to enable it into the CLI with this commands:

enable
debug capwap console cli
conf t
ip http server

And, a webserver appears, but, I can't enter inside...

It asks me user/pwd, and this is ok, but after I have a start page with an "enter" button witch does not works...

I dont understand what you mean.

is 3502 AP started working ?
