Wireless Mesh Bridging capability

Good Morning. I am trying to help a customer deploy a potential mesh solution. It is a hospital and what they are looking to do is deploy a 1540/1560 series access point, as a RAP, on the exterior of the hospital to cover an area that has mobile units within it. These units would have an access point within the unit that would join the Mesh network in a type of point-to-point scenario. I am trying to verify if a 3800 series AP, as a MAP, provide wired access to the clients? If not what is the minimum model, controller code, etc. that i would need?

To note i also know about using a WGB with the 3702's and such but they want everything to be on their controller and managed.

The document I saw tested the AP3800 as a MAP on the ME network.

The following AP models are supported:

As an ME Root AP:Cisco AireOS 1542, 1562, 1815s, 3802s APs
As a Mesh AP: Cisco AireOS 1542, 1562, 1815s, 3802s APs

Thanks. I saw this to. Just didn't want to assume it worked on 8.5 standard controller code.

What is the current version of wlc? Which version do you need to deploy?
