Hi ,

i have below setup but the ping to management ip is very intermittent

switch A <--> port1 (5520) port2 <--> switch B

the 2 switches are not in vss nor stack. they are on hsrp. currently the wlc LAG is enabled. when the links are connected the ping to management ip is intermittent. when only 1 link is connected the ping is stable. is this normal ? any explanation please. is it possible to achieve link redundancy with this setup? thanks

You need to disable LAG since they are not in VSS. And remove port-channel in the switch, just regular trunk.

You don't need to delete the 2nd port or shutdown.

Controller>LAG Mode on next reboot>Disabled

Save then reboot.

Please note, this might delete all virtual-network interfaces on the WLC! You then need to re-create them and also assign them to the SSIDs again!

For redundancy reasons I would leave LAG enabled, but have VSS or similar between the switches active.
