a high density deployment.

Depends on the network and depends on the wireless traffic.

I have AP3700 that have >60 daily wireless clients but because the traffic is only trivial (emails, IM, social networking, occasional HD video, VoIP) I have not heard of any complaints.

@litto.sunny wrote:

Every time someone asks how-many-clients-per-AP, I always recommend getting a wireless site survey done correctly.

@Leo Laohoo: Thank you for the reply and appreciate it. Just wondering whether it is documented in Cisco about the simultaneous devices connectivity and performance of this AP, C9115AXI. This AP works well in density deployments, but just thinking about performance degrade if the simultaneous devices are more than 200 in any case. Example: Indoor emergency common meeting areas, Training Rooms, Canteen, theaters..etc.

@litto.sunny wrote:

Like I said before, it depends on the traffic.
Connecting to a single AP is one thing. Simultaneous traffic is another. Sure, I can get 200 wireless clients to connect to an AP. No problem. 200 wireless clients simultaneously pulling traffic? Now that is where the "right question" needs to be answered.

When I deploy APs to training room, it is usually N+1. If the training room has a capacity of 35, I would always deploy two APs.
The method-to-the-madness is as follows:

Each person has 2.0 to 2.5 wireless client

There is no guarantee the wireless client will "behave" (aka, join the CLOSEST AP). Putting a 2nd AP will minimize the chance.

Redundancy.

Let me reiterate what I said earlier: Get a wireless site survey done properly.
