CIMC for WLC 5520 - Upgrade from 8.2.166 to 8.10.162

Hi,

I'm planing to upgrade a WLC (AIR-CT5520-K9) from 8.2.166 to 8.10.162.

I read that it's better to do it from 8.2->8.5->8.10 and also an upgrade of the CIMC firmware is required. However, I have no information of the CIMC connected to my WLC. Is it possible that it does not have one? Is there anyway to find out the CIMC IP from the WLC? (imm is configured with DHCP)

Thanks for your responses, but my question is more about how to find the CIMC information itself. Don't know if there is one or not.

- From your original post it seems as it did not acquire an IP , set it manually as being explained in the link I posted, connect to it afterwards and follow the procedures accordingly and or check the current firmware version.

Is there a plan to use or connect to the CIMC? IF there is nothing connected to the CIMC (and not planning to use it) then there is no need to upgrade the CIMC.
Regarding upgrading from 8.2.X.X to 8.10.X.X, are there any 2700/3700 joined to the WLC?

Actually @Leo Laohoo CIMC should be done even if you aren't using it because the update package also includes a number of firmware fixes for critical bugs as per https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn810mr6.html#cimc-upgrade

In answer to your other question @anthony.harden yes they always have a CIMC because CIMC is a standard part of the Cisco UCS servers these are built on.
