Ordering WCS

I'm working with a customer that has several WLC in place and working already. They now want to get a WCS server with location services in place. Does the licensing strictly depend on the number of APs in use, not the number or type of WLCs?

For a linux server, the part number I want is AIR-WCS-LL-1.0-K9, isn't it? Does that part number include any AP licenses? And the additional APs are licensed in multiples of 50, 100, and 500, correct?

Thanks!

Here is the ordering guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5755/ps6301/ps6305/product_data_sheet0900aecd804b4646.html

You have different feature sets and the part you want is WCS-STANDARD-K9

or WCS-ENT-PLUS-K9. You will download the WCS flavor you want from the

website (windows / linux)

Licensing is by number of access points :

Example for Standard license:

If you are a NEW Cisco WCS customer who wants support for 50, 100, or

500 access points in a single server deployment, order WCS-STANDARD-K9

and select one of the Cisco Base options below:

WCS-APBASE-50: License supports up to 50 access points.

WCS-APBASE-100: License supports up to 100 access points.

WCS-APBASE-500: License supports up to 500 access points.

Note: If your access point deployment does not exactly match 50, 100 or

500, you need to order multiple licenses. For example, to support an

access point deployment of 250 you would order (2) WCS-APBASE-100

licenses + (1) WCS-APBASE-50 license. This ordering process applies to

both new and upgrade orders.

• If you are an EXISTING Cisco WCS customer who wants to increase access

points support within a single server deployment, order WCS-STANDARD-K9

and select one of the Cisco Base options below:

WCS-APBASE-50: License supports up to 50 access points.

WCS-APBASE-100: License supports up to 100 access points.

WCS-APBASE-500: License supports up to 500 access points.
