You can backup the directories but I'd defintely exclude the solid.db file
in <INSTALL dir="">/webnms/eval_kit/standalone/. You could also GHOST the machine but backing up just the solid.db file and hoping to restore it will not work properly.</INSTALL>

You would be better off setting up the WCS background job to backup WCS to the backup directory and then use veritas to backup that directory. You would then have a valid backup of the WCS install.

Hi

I wonder if anyone is running WCS 5.2 on Windows and has got a server backup program working with it such as Veritas. Any advice on what is compatible and what doesn't work? Is it possible to run a "ghost" snapshot type backup on the system?

solid.db wont be enough. The reason behind it is that log messages, map updates, and other elements that may change in wcs will be referenced in the solid.db file, but other associated file will not be updated / and or missing.

Run the full backup as suggested.
