Greetings!

We are happy to announce the first refresh of 8.10 MR8 Beta Program for PRODUCTION deployments.

This release is the first qualified EFT/Beta Image and it is both TAC and BU supported.

After a successful 8.10MR7 CCO, this program is focused on hardening the software quality and additional bug fixes including WLC reload/crashes.

Cisco just terminated a massive amount of WLC feature requests and low-sev BugIDs, I think that's the answer to your question.
