WCS Import CAD

When I am trying to import a CAD into WCS 5.0.56.0 and I keep getting a communication error from the server and the CAD will not import. Anyone heard of this?

Import of CAD files (.dxf / .dwg) fails with error of 'Invalid file type.' If the pc that the CAD image resides on or is imported from has an application that supports or handles CAD files. To solve the problem Try importing the CAD file from a pc that does not have an application that supports CAD files.

THe other thing you can do is disassociate the dwg/dwf file extensions from the application that they are opened with in Windows to none.

Hi,

check these(msvcp71.dll & dwmapi.dll) files present under

c:\windows\system32\msvcp71.dll

c:\windows\system\dwmapi.dll

if not present download and add to above mentioned location.

After copying the files to the above mentioned locations, Restart WCS and CAD files will be added successfully.
