Not worked with these products myself but sounds like they lost their config or the config got corrupted (make sure it's been saved)

If it happens again you might need to reset them to factory default the re-configure.

Good Day,

I set up ten Cisco 140AC (CBW140AC-A-CA) access points for one of my schools this week. I used the Cisco Business App to configure them (set up SSID, named each of the ten units AP01-AP10). I didn't set static IPs as I couldn't see that option in the app. I brought the units to the school, connected them to network ports in each classroom / room and they all showed up and the SSID was broadcasting and clients could connect successfully. I used the Web GUI to check on the status and all was good. Overnight they had some power issues at the school (the switches powering the APs were on a UPS which started acting up - bad battery we think). After that, the SSID is no longer being broadcast. All APs are showing the flashing green light, and I can ping each of their IP addresses. However, I cannot connect to the SSID to manage the system either via web app or the phone app. I have rebooted the units and made sure they are not all on one switch to prevent any possible power issues.

Any ideas on what is happening and how I can get this fixed? All was working well yesterday, today we have nothing.

Any suggestions or ideas greatly appreciated. Cisco won't provide support unless I get a support contract so that is of no help right now.

Thanks in advance.

Ron.

UPDATE: I had one AP that was still in the box, originally configured with the rest, but not installed at the school. Fired it up and the SSID came up so that I could manage the network. I had unplugged the other nine units, plugged them back in one at a time and they all came up. Changed the primary to this spare unit, put static IPs on all the APs and saved the configuration. Hopefully this will take care of the issue.

Yes, I think that is what happened. Luckily the unused AP came up with the configuration and the rest joined so all appears well.

I saved the configuration MANY times while I was checking things out and changing to static IPs.

I had real trouble trying to reset to factory defaults, following the instructions in the guide did not do the reset.

Thanks for your reply, it is appreciated.
