9130 AP to 8540 controller fail

Have tons of 9120's on the 8540 but the 9130 AP doesn't make it past the Discovery. I haven't gotten a hit yet on a search.

check the compatable matrix :

what code AP shipped with ?

is the AP in same LAN brodcast domain ?

When were the APs manufactured?
Have you read https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/field-notices/724/fn72424.html ?
Most likely you need to upgrade to 8.10.181.0 but before you do check https://bst.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCwd37092 - you might need to enable TCP MSS adjust 1250 before you upgrade.

If the AP doesn't match the conditions listed in the FN shared by @Rich R please follow the below

What is the code you are running today? What is the code running in the AP? Did you try by having both WMI and AP management in the same VLAN?

Did you try hardcoding the WLC WMI IP in the AP? "capwap ap primary-base <WLC hostname> <WMI IP>"

Updated the IOS on the 8540 and it's all good
