Whilst you might be able to get an AP to send signal over 500m the issue is the client probably wont be able to reply.

Unless your talking a point to point solution to save having to run fibre between the two areas.

What you are better off doing is placing multiple APs to cover the area. I would suggest a site survey with tools like Ekahau

Is there a line of sight (LoS) between office and home?

The best solution would be to deploy a p2p solution as @Haydn Andrews propose, or mesh is there is clear LoS, and if the throughput is important, check a 802.11ad capable solution using 60GHz.
