l have smc switch how configure cisco is so hard someone help with cisco

you mean management ip ? what is the wlc model? and how do you config it ?

You need to have a console cable and then console into the ap. Search for FTDI USB to RJ45

If the ap's are leap like the model you posted "LAP" then you need a controller.

Also the "E" on the model you have means, requires an external antenna. So you need to make sure you have the proper antenna for your environment.

You don't.... the point was if you didn't have one and wanted to get one. As long as it works and you can get output from the console you are fine.

You need a wireless lan controller with the model of ap you have. IF you wanted to not use a wireless lan controller, you should have purchased air-ap11142n-e-k9. You can try to convert it, but you will need to search the internet for the image.

air-LAP1142N-E-K9 - what are you trying to configured, if the AP is configured already you need to reset to factory ?

Note as suggested above, you need to connect the console and post the complete output here (in TEXT File) so we understand what is wrong with the AP, why you are not able to configure so on.

l don't have a cisco wireless controller how the hell do configure that cisco AP <--- what is your goal of buying used AP here ?

you should look for a WLC 2504 and make sure it has this code version 8.3.150.0. Here is a matrix of the supported code for the 1140.

@Scott Fella already posted the link above for converting from lightweight (controller based) to autonomous (standalone also sometimes referred to as IOS).

The main problem you have is that these APs went end of support years ago so you may have trouble finding the correct IOS image to use. Maybe the person who sold them to you can help?

No APs do not connect to a modem!
