As previous 2 answers - whether 10 or 1000 APs the answer is still the same - DHCP with option 43. It's easy, it's flexible and it's Cisco recommended best practice so if you go static then you do so at your own risk.

Hi All,

What is best practice of assigning IP addresses to Access Points: static or dynamic ?

Please provide pros and cons for each one.

For example consider deployment of 10 APs and deployment of 1000 APs.

Thank you

- Dynamic and or with DHCP , static addressing does not scale , also DHCP option 43 can be used to let the AP know the address of the wireless controller
