You've mentioned ASA5516 - ASA is a Cisco firewall and security product so not clear what that has to with your wireless.

For the wireless:
What model of WLC?
What version of software is the WLC running?
What model(s) of APs?

More generally if it's an AireOS based controller then mesh AP MAC addresses need to be registered:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/8-5/config-guide/b_cg85/connecting-mesh-aps.html#ID4807

Hi

We have an ASA5516.

We run a mesh network with 4 points, this works great but we have decided to add an additional device for a dead spot.

When the device is setup to link to the mesh as a wireless uplink anything that links to that point doesn't get an IP address.

When we setup the device to uplink as a wired connection it brings down the whole mesh and no devices work.

I suspect that I need to add the IP to an allowed list but a steer in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

>....When we setup the device to uplink as a wired connection it brings down the whole mesh and no devices work.
Check logs on all involved devices to get insights , or use a syslog server for central logging (=better).
