Thank you for reply, the AP is brand new i did install the iOS 15.3.3 ( as you mentionned ) at first time, but the thing that can't understand that the iOS installed is 15.3.3 , and the #show version shows 8.10.130.

is it normal ? or the access point doesnt take the new image in account .

also can i install the 17.3.6 ( of the wlc ) manualy on the access point , to avoid the above issue ?

The problem maybe related to not enough space in flash to store the new image, but running 8.10.130 should be enough to have the resized partition.

Try factrory resetting the AP, downloading the image that matches your 17.3.6 release, and see if that fixes the issue:

This is because of a change to the CAPWAP protocol from 17.6.x documented in https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvx98176
The same change would have been integrated in the latest version of 17.3.x - including 17.3.6

So you need to install the 8.10.185.0 or 17.3.6 AP image - get the correct version from the compatibility matrix (link below) - as illustrated by @JPavonM
You'll need console access to the AP if you don't have SSH access to load the new software.

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286285803/type/286288051/release/15.3.3-JK9
https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286285803/type/286288051/release/15.3.3-JPJ9

> i did install the iOS 15.3.3 ( as you mentionned ) at first time, but the thing that can't understand that the iOS installed is 15.3.3 , and the #show version shows 8.10.130.
As @JPavonM illustrated above you can map the AP software version to the controller software version (which is what you're seeing) in the compatibility matrix. It's not good enough to just refer to 15.3.3 - you need to take note of the complete version number including the letters at the end. You installed 15.3(3)JK3 (8.10.130.0) which is too old.

FYI the 18xx APs (and all newer Cisco APs) do not run Cisco IOS. They run Cisco AP COS (ClickOS).
