FAST TRANSITION set as adaptive and not enabled

Please help explain the difference of setting the FT option as ADAPTIVE and not enabled? on WLANS >>SECURITY >>LAYER 2

does this mean i can set it different on each SSID?

say its enabled one SSID and adaptive on one SSID then disabled on another SSID??

my WLC is a 5508 ,

Yes, you can set it for every SSID as you need it depending on the capabilities of the clients that should use this SSID.
