C9120AXI-E u-boot loop on WLC 17.6.4

Hi,

I have tired to add C9120AXI-E to WLC 17.6.4. Everything goes at it should but after downloading an image from WLC and reloading AP stuck in boot loop.

When upload a image 17.6.4.56 from tftpboot from u-boot and run from setenv BOOT part1 => the image is working but again after adding the WLC IP and AP connect to WLC the same thing happen.

Flip the AP and look at the serial number "plate" of the AP. At the bottom of this plate is the Date of Manufacture. Was the AP manufactured AFTER September 2022?

If the AP was manufactured after September 2022 then this behaviour is due to FN - 72424 - Later Versions of Some Wi-Fi 6 Access Points Fail to Join the WLAN Controller.

Hi,

I check the serial number in that tool from link https://spyder.cisco.com/app/v1/chat?id=a90af8ff-fbaf-43e5-b047-8ba5f275274d&bugId=CSCwc47544&source=FN

"The FN72424 / bug CSCwc47544 is not applicable to the device serial number FCW******"

Also the VID=4 which should means that AP is not affected. Correct me if i'm wrong

Boot the AP into u-boot and enter the following:

ubi part fs ubi remove part2 ubi create part2 boot

If this works, then this is CSCvx32806.

Quite a long time but..

I tried the -> none of that work - or maybe i made something wrong -> still the same error -> the last option that i can see is to upgrade WLC controller form 17.6.4 to the 17.6.5

Did you manage to solve the issue?

We have the same problem, connected 5 C9120I to our controller running 17.6.4.

3 failed after joining and download of image and now stuck in boot loop with error: verify signature failed for /bootpart/part1/ramfs_data_cisco.cpio.lzma

2 worked though which is strange

Not really.

Upgrade of WLC helps to that issue. But AP in boot loop needs to be erased.

Do you have WLC and AP in the LAN network or they are divided by WAN?
