Reconfiguring WLC's Management Interface

Product Version.................................. 8.5.160.0

I am trying to change manegement Ip address, Mask and gateway. But facing error Below is command which i am using and error facing.

(Cisco Controller) >config interface address management X.X.X.X X.X.X.X X.X.X.X

Request failed – Active WLAN using interface. Disable WLAN first.

I disable all WLAN using the following commands

(Cisco Controller) >config wlan disable all

I valited that all Wlans were disable, but when I tried to reconfigure the interface, I get a different error because management interface is configure into EoGRE tunnel

Could you let me know what is the way to solve this configuration, I couldn't find a complete procedure to do it

Hi @crange

Go to the CONTROLLER tab, and on the left side, look for Tunneling. And under Tunneling click in EoGRE.

In Interface config, must be management. Change to something else and apply. Then, try to edit the IP address again.

Thanks for your reply, I dont have GUI access, I tied to do it using the CLI but Looks like there is a Wlan active but I disable all of them

well, sounds odd but I would try to upgrade the WLC. It does not make sense. You have 4 WLANs, all of them are disabled but the WLC keeps saying it has WLAN UP. Sounds like a bug.

If you have the possibility, open a TAC could be another way out.

Disconnect the WLC uplink and change the Management IP address using Console or Service Port (GUI).

- You could save the configuration , factory reset the controller , have basic setup on it with management ip as intended , then restore the configuration , leave the items out of it related to the mangament interface setup ,

If you were able to disable the uplinks, then why didn't you turn off all the WLAN, change the Management IP address and turn the WLAN back on?
