Is there an equivalent to "show etherchannel summary" to run on the Aruba switch and post the results? Along with the configuration of the aggregated interface and the individual interfaces?

Is Spanning Tree being used, and is it forwarding the required VLAN(s) out the LAG from the Aruba side?

FYI - We don't use a native VLAN on the trunks from the switch side. Just trunk mode with "switchport trunk allowed vlan x,y,z" (again, IOS syntax). It may or may not be applicable to your environment.

Cisco 8540 and Aruba switch not properly "lagging" together

Hi

I have a 8540 I want to move from an older Cat6k to a new Aruba 8360. The 8540 is running an older train (8.3) and is configured as a LAG. Since there is no negociation or support for LACP or PAGP on the WLC, I've forced the LAG port on the Aruba side to be 'on' and not use LACP. The native vlan is allowed on the LAG on the switch side, and the config on the controller really wasn't changed.

A test putting using a single port on the WLC set on the Aruba switch as a trunk with all proper vlans allows the controller to communicate.

When in LAG, the channel is up and properly connected. We can even see the controller's mac for management on the port. However there is no communication.

Any advice (or experience/template to share) from your similar experiences?

(btw cases were opened on both sides but are not yet assigned)

TY

Mae

Hi Marce!

I appreciate your reply. Bear in mind that there is no negotiation of speed nor channeling here, they are your plain vanilla 10G fiber links on Aruba. I have and will keep my eyes peeled to the logs, as you said, but so far they are very quiet.

Thanks

- Great info! (smile) ; you need to consider https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286284728/type/280926587/release/8.10.190.0
and check if it has an impact on the issue , the older release is a disadvantage , especially on aireos platforms which are gradually being out phased , and or latest/last release that they can run becomes recommended ,
