When I enter the bvl1 command I get an error, I get the same error regardless of what I enter. What did I do wrong.

some of the commands not related to cisco.

make sure you are enable mode # to issue the commands.

Like BB said you need to be in enable mode before you can enter any privileged commands on the AP.
Also CAPWAP APs cannot be directly configured - they get their config from the controller.
It is normal, and recommended best practice, to use DHCP but if you want to configure a static IP then you need to use the capwap command to do that:

I'll be using DHCP ip address not static, what commands do I need, to find what the IP address is so that I can access the access point's interface to configure it.

It's a CAPWAP AP and you're using DHCP so there's nothing you need to configure on the AP.
You can see the IP address by looking at the CDP or LLDP neighbour detail on the switch it's connected to, by looking at the ARP cache on a neighbour (ideally the default gateway router) or by looking at the lease on the DHCP server.
If you don't trust any of those (which are the easiest options by far) then you could login to the AP and use "show capwap ip config" or "show capwap ipv6 config"

But I'll repeat again - the config is done on the WLC.

Thank you for you responses as this is my 1st time doing this so sorry for all the questions. I said configure so that I can name the SSI and add a password. Can I do that with this AP?

No, you cannot. As already explained this is a CAPWAP (lightweight) AP designed to work with a Wireless LAN Controller (WLC). All the AP configuration is done on the WLC not on the AP.

If you don't have or don't want a controller then the only way to use the AP in a standalone way (without a WLC) is to convert it to Embedded Wireless Controller on Catalyst Access Point (EWC). You have to install the EWC software https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286323627/type/286323077/release/17.12.2 and then the AP will run both the ClickOS AP software and the IOS-XE WLC software separately on the AP. Both components require an IP address and the AP component joins the WLC component. Then you can use the WLC GUI or CLI to configure the AP.
