Had the same requirement and my Cisco Prime Infrastructure GUI was not loading the corresponding config menu.

For AirOS WLC (25xx,35xx, 55xx etc.) you can do this via CLI as well. Just prepare the input for SSH in excel file with respective ap hostname / WLC info. You can do this for secondary and tertiary as well.

Read here: https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.4/command/reference/lwap/lwapcr74_chapter_010.html

config ap primary-base WLC-HOSTNAME AP-HOSTNAME WLC-IP

I need to change a lot of Access Points High Availability settings at once

Can you do this via the CLI on the controller?

I have prime available as well, just want to make the process as simple as possible.

I just need to add a primary and secondary controller into the HA settings on 400 AP's on a single controller

Thanks

Prime infrastructure you can

Prime infrastructure you can create an access point template defining the primary, secondary and or tertiary controller. This would be faster, but you also can enter this information on the CLI.

Prime Infrastructure is a greeaaat tool for this.

To accomplish this, you'll have to go to:

1. Configuration -> Templates -> Lightweight Access Points

2. Add template -> 'Go'

3. Give it a name and go to 'AP parameters' tab.

4. From 'AP parameters', tab check and fill the following:

      a. AP failover Priority {Checked}{'High' [I recommend High, but you can choose any other]}

      b. Controllers Configuration {Checked} {Type the name an IP address for your Primary and Secondary WLCs}

5. Save as new template

6. Click on 'AP source' icon, here you can choose either manual or per site (sites, buildings or floors)

7. Select the APs you want to deploy.

8. Deploy.

Note1: The IP address of the new controller will not suffice, you must enter its name as well.

Note2: all the other fields in the template will not get pushed, only the ones you explicitly mark.

Hope it helps.
